The Senate Judiciary Committee will meet to consider the following bills:

HB 256 – Rep. Metzgar – Amends Section 2703 (a) of Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to make an assault by a prisoner on a detention or correctional facility employee which is likely to produce bodily injury a felony of the second degree.

HB 1855 – Rep. Bernstine – Amends Section 6137 of Title 61 to restrict when the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole (PBPP) can parole an inmate after the expiration of his or her minimum sentence if the inmate was convicted of a violent offense or an obstruction of justice offense while incarcerated.

SB 1204 – Sen. Farnese – Amends Sections 2512 and 2514 of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes so that the victims of rape and incest can terminate the parental rights of the rapist without having to first identify another individual who has a present intent to adopt the child.

HB 1984 – Rep. Benninghoff – Amends Sections 2512 and 2514 of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes so that the victims of rape and incest can terminate the parental rights of the rapist without having to first identify another individual who has a present intent to adopt the child.

SB 14 – Sen. Williams/Sen. Bartolotta – Amends Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes regarding probation.

SB 1158 – Sen. Arnold – Amends Section 7301(f) of Title 35 by adding a subsection (7.1) regarding the release or transfer of individuals in state correctional facilities during disaster emergencies.
