Senator Lisa Baker was one of twelve women selected for inclusion in the 3rd annual Times Leader Media Group’s Distinctive Women’s program, designed to showcase those who are inspiring and leading by example. Northeastern Pennsylvania is filled with women who work every day to make the community a better place to live, so she was honored to be among those recognized.
Readers submitted hundreds of nominations, and a committee evaluated the candidates before voting on a final panel. Baker was chosen for her successes as an advocate for local communities, as well as her legislative accomplishments. She said preparation, listening, and a willingness to look at different perspectives are skills that have helped her throughout her career.
