DALLAS — State Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20th) and State Sen. John Yudichak (D-14th), are urging local senior citizens to come out to their 2014 Luzerne County Senior Expo on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the 109th Field Artillery Armory, 280 Market St. in Wilkes-Barre.
“By having an event like this, senior citizens from throughout Luzerne County are able to learn about so many great programs available to them and can speak to representatives from agencies and organizations that have their best interests at heart,” said Baker. “Seniors can come and get answers and information on the spot.”
The Senior Expo will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature vendors from local, county and state agencies to answer questions about government programs and services, Social Security, health care and insurance, legal issues and fraud protection, senior financial issues, and exercise and nutrition tips. In addition, there will be refreshments, giveaways and free health screenings.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Sen. Baker’s office at 570-675-3931 or Sen. Yudichak’s office at 570-740-2434.
