Dallas – Senator Lisa Baker will not accept the automatic pay increase for state legislators. She will return the money to the state Treasury each month.
“With so many families struggling in this still difficult economy, I feel it is only right to return this raise,” Baker said.
Baker added that she supports a permanent suspension of legislative pay increases. Additionally, she has not taken the per diem payment that legislators may receive for expenses while working in Harrisburg.
