HARRISBURG — Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20) issued the following statement regarding the federal government’s action relative to the Rain Tax and the rescinding of Executive Order 13508, Chesapeake Bay Protection and Restoration:
“This decision is welcome news for homeowners, farmers and businesses. The imposition of the so-called Rain Tax has created considerable controversy and opposition. Good questions have been raised about its fairness, practicality, and the seeming inconsistency in assessment. This is a very good time for the federal government to give Pennsylvania the chance to reconsider and reevaluate this approach. If the governor does not agree to reexamine this policy, then I and other legislators will force the issue.”
