Senator Baker will join Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine, Insurance Commissioner Jessica Altman and Human Services Chief of Staff Johanna Fabian-Marks to announce the five health care providers and four insurance payers who have completed the necessary steps to become part of Pennsylvania’s Rural Health Model. The Rural Health Model focuses on integrated, value-based care through an all-payer global budget model.
This announcement is the next step to improve health outcomes in rural areas. Under the Wolf Administration, the department has developed three main strategies as part of this model, including; transforming health care delivery in rural communities; improving the population health status in rural communities; and creating health care services that match the needs of the community.
