Senate Resolution Seeks To End Per Diems

Senator Lisa Baker is one of twelve Senators signed onto a resolution that would end the controversial system of per diem payments. Should this change in the Senate Rules be approved, the new system would provide reimbursement for reasonable actual expenses for items such as lodging and meals, in line with the practice that exists for most private businesses and organizations. The documentation required would allow citizens to review these expenditures.

As a matter of record, Senator Baker has never taken a per diem. She has submitted only reasonable and actual expenses, reflecting her principles of accountability to taxpayers.

Senate Resolution 364 was introduced June 24th.
