Senator Baker Disagrees with Governor’s Decision to Withhold Payments to National Guard Members and Reservists

Dallas – Senator Baker issued the following statement regarding the governor’s decision to withhold payments to state employees who are on active duty at home or abroad with the Pennsylvania National Guard or reserves:

“Since it is our view that state workers should be getting paid, it is highly offensive and outrageous that stipends are being cut off for those soldiers and their families who are busy protecting us.

If they made the right and sensible decision to just pay the stipend, it is hard to imagine anyone challenging it.”
