Brace’s Orchard Featured on October Edition of The Baker Report

Dallas – As the leaves begin bursting into color and orchards throughout the region reach their peak business season, the October edition of The Baker Report features a visit to Brace’s Apple Orchard located just outside of Dallas in Orange, Pennsylvania.

The episode features a tour led by current co-owner, Paul Brace. Brace has worked at the orchard since childhood, first helping his father and grandfather and eventually taking over daily operations. In terms of technology, a lot on the farm has changed since then, but the pride that the family takes in their work remains the same.

“I personally grade every apple we sell. I don’t want to hire somebody because it’s my name, my reputation…This is something that’s been in the family for eight generations and I take pride in everything we do here,” said Brace.

The show offers a glimpse inside the orchard and a behind-the-scenes look at the cider-making process. Information about some of the forty varieties of apples grown there and their unique qualities will also be shared.

“Brace’s Orchard is one of many family-owned orchards and farms doing business in the 20th District,” said Senator Baker. “When residents have access to local, fresh produce and can support area businesses in the process, everybody wins.”

The Brace’s Orchard episode of The Baker Report will air on Blue Ridge Cable and Electric City in October. Check your local listings for program times. The Baker Report can also be viewed on Baker’s website at www.senatorbaker.com.
