Sen. Baker – Hamill Confirmed by Senate to Wayne County Judgeship

The state Senate today unanimously confirmed the nomination of Raymond Hamill, Esquire to serve as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Wayne County, according to Sen. Lisa Baker (R-Luzerne) who strongly supported the nomination.

Hamill, a resident of Honesdale, Wayne County, appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee today prior to the nomination being referred to the full Senate for a confirmation vote. He was introduced at the Judiciary Committee hearing by Senator Baker and was joined by Representatives Sandra Major (R-Susquehanna) and Mike Peifer (R-Wayne). He will serve until January 2008.

“I’m pleased that we have someone with his professional skills and legal expertise to serve,” Baker said. “He is dedicated to the legal profession, the Commonwealth’s judicial system and the people of Wayne County, and I am confident that he will serve the community well.”

Hamill serves as Director/President of Hamill Meagher LTD and as a member of the board of directors of the Wayne Economic Development Corporation.
