Will share the Civil Service Commission's position and concerns regarding SB
1076. This legislation provides for changes in staffing and personnel rules for
health care professionals in the Commonwealth's six Veterans Homes.

- BG Cecil Hengeveld, Deputy Adjutant General – Department of Military and Veterans Affairs
Providing an overview of SB 1076 and other issues relevant to veteran health
care in the Commonwealth's Veterans Homes. Will also discuss other veteran
service programs under the jurisdiction of the DMVA.

PA War Vets Council
- Frank Mills, Commander – PA Veterans of Foreign Wars
To discuss several issues impacting Veterans Homes and other veteran
services, including legislative proposals amending the Small Games of Chance
Act that helps fund some of these services.
- Donald Cohick, President – State Association of County Vets Directors
Discussing the services provided by county vets directors and will share the
association's support of both HB 1990 and draft legislative proposals to
amend the statutes governing the duties of county vets directors.
- Kit Watson, Adjutant – PA American Legion
Testifying in support of Act 66 funding and will provide comment on other
issues including the closure of the Governor's Veterans Outreach Assistance
Centers (GVOAC).

Testifying in support of the GVOACs and the services they provided veterans
prior to the recent closure of these centers.

Describing the veteran services this new nonprofit organization is providing to
residents in the northeastern counties of Pennsylvania.
