Statement by Senator Lisa Baker on The Passing of Dr. Joe "Doc" Mattioli

Dallas – There are many legendary names in NASCAR – Petty, Allison, Earnhardt. But we will never forget our own Pocono legend – "Doc" Mattioli. He was a pioneer, a visionary, and an exceptionally community-minded individual. In a time when successful family-owned businesses have become a rarity, he kept Pocono Raceway as a premier facility. The depth of his commitment was evident in everything he did and touched – to his family, his business, his community, and all the institutions we depend on for the quality of life in this region.
