Senator Lisa Baker Asks State Attorney General to Review Terrorism Monitoring Contract

Senator Lisa Baker has asked the state Attorney General to review the controversial terrorism monitoring contract and the questionable actions of state homeland security officials in carrying it out.

Baker said the information that came to light over the course of two committee hearings, discrepancies revealed as the result of media coverage, and continuing reports of groups and individuals who were monitored merely for exercising basic rights warrant a thorough look by prosecutors.

"If, as people suspect, there was testimony given under oath that is found to be in conflict with the facts, if records were improperly destroyed, if there were approvals given that have not been divulged, these are matters that investigators should review to see if legal steps are necessary," Baker stated.
