Senate Committees to Hold Hearings on the 911 Emergency Response System and its Funding 

Harrisburg – The Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee (Chaired by Senator Lisa Baker) and the Senate Communications and Technology Committee (Chaired by Senator Mike Folmer) will hold a joint public hearing on Wednesday, March 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Room 8E-B of the Main Capitol Building. The purpose of this hearing is to receive testimony and consider many issues impacting the Commonwealth’s 911 Emergency Response System, including several concerns impacting the funding of the county systems. 

Those expected to testify include officials representing various county 911 offices, the PA Emergency Management Agency, the County Commissioners Association of PA, The Association of Public Safety Communications Officials, The National Emergency Numbers Association, and representatives from the business community and telecommunications industry.  

Members of the media are invited to cover this hearing.
