Sen. Baker – Rose Confirmed by Senate to District Justice Post

The State Senate today unanimously confirmed the nomination of Jay Rose to serve as Magisterial District Judge in Pike County, according to Sen. Lisa Baker (R-Luzerne) who supported the measure.

Rose is a resident of Paupack, Pike County and an attorney practicing in Milford. He will replace the late Judge William N. Sanquilly, who passed away in January of this year. Rose will serve through the remainder of the term, which expires on the first Monday of January 2010. A District Judge will be elected to serve a full six-year term in the Municipal Election of November 2009.

"I'm pleased that we have someone with Attorney Rose’s legal expertise, professionalism and dedication to the community to serve in this important role," Baker said. "I am confident that he will serve the people of Pike County well."
