August 20, 2009 – Senator Baker joins students and
administrators from Susquehanna Community School District when they were in
Harrisburg being recognized for having shown consistent academic gains in
statewide test scores in math and reading from 2002 to 2008. Susquehanna
Community School District was singled out for having the greatest gains during
this period.

August 18, 2009 - Senator Baker joins representatives from the
Department of Health, the emergency medical services community and Governor Ed
Rendell to sign a bill she sponsored to improve Pennsylvania’s Emergency Medical
Services Law to ensure high levels of patient care and greater public safety.

August 7, 2009 – State Representative Sandra Major and Senator
Baker helped serve breakfast and greet guests at the Annual Montrose Blueberry
Festival. Held on the first Friday and Saturday in August since 1980, proceeds
from the festival benefit the Susquehanna County Historical Society & Free
Library Association.
