January 30, 2007 - After a recent meeting in Harrisburg, Michael Zimmerman, executive director of the American Red Cross, Wyoming Valley Chapter, took time to pose for a photo in front of an American Red Cross flag used in the Spanish American War. The flag was on the train sent by the city of Philadelphia to bring the sick soldiers of the 1st Regiment home from Chickamaug, Georgia. Senator Baker’s grandfather was among the soldiers who became ill with malaria.
