SB 623 – Bill Summary – Sen. Yaw – Amends Title 20 (Decedents, Estates and Fiduciaries) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to codify Pennsylvania Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLST) and to clarify certain provisions regarding Out-Of-Hospital Do Not Resuscitate (OOH-DNR) orders and preventing the use of new OOH-DNR orders executed after the date that the Department of Health adopts an initial POLST form.

SB 938  – Bill Summary – Sen. Sabatina & Sen. Vulakovich – Amends Sections 6337 (d) and 6337 (f) of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to require that certain general protective services reports (regarding child abuse) in a Statewide database maintained by the Department of Human Services (DHS) be retained for a period of 10 years, or until the child who is the subject of the report attains the age of 23, and that a County agency is permitted to retain protective service reports that have been expunged from the Statewide database.

SB 978  – Bill Summary – Sen. Baker – Enacts the Hospice and Home Health Prescription Medication Disposal Act which authorizes a home health agency or hospice, upon the death or discharge of a patient, and with appropriate permission, to dispose of a patient’s unused prescription medicines.
