Voting set to begin in Second Annual Calendar Contest

After six months of area shutterbugs submitting their best photographs, the time has come for the public to choose their favorites and determine which 12 entries will grace the pages of the 2016 “Scenes from the 20th Senatorial District” Calendar.

Throughout the month of September, individuals can go to https://www.senatorbaker.com/new-20th-district/voting to cast their votes.  The top three vote-getters in each category – spring, summer, fall and winter – will serve as a featured month in the calendar.

Senator Lisa Baker, R-20th, launched the contest for the first time in 2014.  More than 16,400 votes were cast to select the winners from the nearly 200 pictures entered.  Based on that success, Baker decided to hold the contest again.  Photographers responded positively with dozens of photos showcasing the many wonderful features and attractions the area has to offer.

“Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties are some of the most beautiful in Pennsylvania,” Baker said.  “I think the people who entered this year’s contest have captured the essence of what this region is all about.”
