Sen. Baker Joins Red Cross Effort to Promote Fire Safety

As part of “March is Red Cross Month,” Senator Lisa Baker (R-20) joined members of the Pennsylvania Red Cross at an event at the State Capitol in Harrisburg aimed at encouraging fire safety preparedness.

Pennsylvania Red Cross staff and volunteers and legislators gathered in the capitol rotunda to assemble fire safety bags that will provide PA residents with vital information and supplies aimed at preventing fires and fire related injuries and deaths.

The bags contain batteries, fire safety tips, water, and pet fire safety information. A total of 200 bags were assembled and will be distributed to residents throughout Pennsylvania.

Baker, who chairs the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, said the event is intended to encourage residents to be ready for fire emergencies.
